I am an interdisciplinary teacher-scholar of mass communication. My research interests are in globalization, consumer culture, intercultural communication, international marketing communication, and visual communication. Geographically, I am interested in media communication in developing countries (BRICS nations). In my research, I often explore issues of race, class and gender in the media.
At Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, I teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses. I have taught Research Methods in Mass Communication, Media Law and Policy, International Advertising, Transnational Media (blended), Mass Media in Society, Mass Media & Health (online), Media Campaigns, and Freshman Seminar.
Before joining SIUE, I taught at Temple University, Philadelphia. I taught Introduction to Advertising, Introduction to Advertising Research, Morality, Law and Advertising, Media Information Gathering for Public Relations, Introduction to Mass Media and Society, Public Speaking and various online courses.
